The State of the Tech Market in 2026

The tech market in 2026 has irrevocably changed. For years, we were promised that Artificial Intelligence would be an "augmentation" to human workers, a helpful copilot that would eliminate drudgery and free us up for creative thinking. But the reality has been starkly different.

The Algorithm's Reach AI agents are now performing tasks that were once the exclusive domain of junior and mid-level knowledge workers. Entire departments have been hollowed out, replaced by continuously learning models that don't sleep, don't ask for raises, and don't need health insurance.

However, a counter-movement is quietly brewing.

The Human Premium Companies are beginning to realize the limits of generative models. They lack intuition, empathy, and the ability to navigate complex, unquantifiable human emotions. We are seeing a sudden surge in demand for roles that cannot be automated: therapists, physical trades, complex legal negotiation, and specialized cybersecurity (where intuition is key to identifying zero-day threats).

We call this the Human Premium.

If you are a job seeker today, the path forward is not to compete with the machine on efficiency. It is to lean into the traits that make you fundamentally human.
