Job Summary
Firefighter Trainee
The purpose of this classification is to perform emergency response work in firefighting, emergency rescue, and hazardous materials and to protect the lives and properties of the citizens of the City, in a training capacity; helps firefighters at stations, and duringincidents. As with all Fire Department staff and suppression personnel, the person in this classification shall be called upon to perform hazardous duties in and around areas where fire, hazardous substances, man-made or natural disasters are occurring or have occurred.
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
